The Malvar Municipal Development Council (MDC) held its annual regular meeting this morning at the Malvar LNB Hall to set the direction of economic and social development and coordinate development efforts within the Municipality for 2016. After the deliberations, the MDC approved the Annual Budget and Annual Investment Plan of the Municipality for the year 2016. The body also endorsed to the Provincial Development Council the North-South Railway Project, which will rehabilitate the railway infrastructure from Tutuban to Calamba to Batangas.
The MDC regular meeting, where all the members were present, was a complete success. Present were Mayor Carlito de la Peña Reyes as Chairman, Members Congressman Sonny Collantes, SB Member Rosanna Cabello, Barangay Captains Dick Basilan of San Fernando, Lilibeth Lat of Bagong Pook, Jeovel Latido of Poblacion, Henry Olan of Luta Norte, Wilfredo Garcia of Luta Sur, Lamberto Malabanan of San Juan, Johny Mendoza of Santiago, Ralph Julius Leo Morcilla of San Andres, Deogracias Macalinal of Bilucao, Virgilio Linga of San Gregorio, Elpidio Tosino of Bulihan, Dennis Lucillo of San Pedro II, Rufino Enriquez of San Isidro, Efren Hernandez of San Pioquinto and Teresita Piamonte representing Peter Sayas of San Pedro I. Five mandatory non government organizations were all represented.
All the municipal government department heads attended as resource persons. Special guests include Vice Mayor Cristeta Cuevas Reyes, MLGOO Juel Fatima Dijan Trinidad, Ted Lintan of Malvareños USA and SB Member Alberto Lat. – Linda N. Balbuena, MDC Secretary.
